| | | | The Framery at Decor Antiques is a modern frame shop staffed by professional custom framers providing museum quality framing. Standard framing consists of acid-free backing, mats, dust cover and UV or better glass. Our framers have the expertise to enhance the value and beauty of your art an using the proper materials to preserve it in the future.
Our custom framers, in consultation with the client, will select mats, frames and presentions that show the artwork at its best in keeping with the areas where it will be displayed. Our huge stock of antique and contemporary frames make it possible to properly frame art from modern to pieces from the the last two centuries.
Also in the Gallery professional restorers provide new life to paintings and antique frames. The paintings and frames are carefully evaluated and our clients are provided with an itemized list of remedies to restore the item to its original condition. A course of action is then decided upon in consultation considering the artistic, financial and historical value of the antique frame or painting after restoration.
Usually involved in restoring paintings may be tear repairs, lining, cleaning. stretching, in-painting of missing paint and varnishing. Occasionally more difficult problems arise but they are generally few and far between and repairable.
Antique frames will require cleaning, the corners must be tightened and re-glued, missing ornaments are cast and replaced, all repairs must be sealed and decisions made with the client as to the type and extent of restoration gilding. Our gilders will carefully provide what is requested and required from the smallest touch-up to a complete gold leafing.

FOR SALE IN OUR GALLERY | | | | On display in our online gallery are photos of a representative selection of our oil paintings, watercolors, fine prints, photographs, and antique frames and mirrors. Most oil paintings shown have been completely restored by cleaning, varnishing, and whatever was necessary to ready them for display. Most of the frames have also been restored and gold leafed, except where the antique value and “look” require the original antique condition. |

Taking an active interest in antiques in general, and antique art and frames in particular, we pride ourselves for being at the forefront of what is new in the picture framing and art restoration worlds.
